The space, aeronautics, drones and defense domains are in constant evolution to adopt new architectures based on CPS (Cyber Physical Systems). CPS are intelligent systems that integrate networks of software and hardware
components that inteact with each other.
In the space context, challenges for securing satellites and spacecrafts are numerous: limited compute capabilities, resilience to errors, difficult updates, increased communication channels, ...
As those domains evolve towards more communication, openness and use of standard componantes such as the Linux OS, existing security practices turn out to be insufficient.
In this workshop, Philippe Massonet and Sebastien Dupont contributed to this approach for "in-depth" security from the conception phases ("by design"), and during the full software lifecycle (DevSecOps). The focus of the discussions was how to secure hardware and software from test to formal validation, and how to secure communications using current techniques and (post-)Quantum methods.
