About projects
Med-IT is organized in Morocco since 2002?. It is a showcase of innovative technologies, a place for discussion, reflection and meetings for decision makers and industry professionals in IT. This year Belgium is in the spotlight and CETIC was invited to share his vision. The presentation will focus on the contribution of IT in the emergence of the concept of "smart city".
Many cities around the world have initiated a digital transformation process in order to provide smarter and more sustainably answers to the needs of their citizens. Information and communications technologies such as the Internet of Things and Big Data are a major drivers of this transformation but open and multi-disciplinary innovation definitively also plays an important role.
Our presentation illustrates how such a process is currently at work in Wallonia with support from instruments such as living labs, creative hubs and the IDEES co-innovation project led by CETIC. A particular emphasis is placed on projects contributing to sustainable development in the transportation and accessibility domains.
