CyberGalaxia est un projet ambitieux financé par le programme FEDER Wallonie 2021-2027, visant à renforcer la cybersécurité dans la région wallonne. Ce portefeuille est coordonné par le CETIC et implique plusieurs partenaires académiques et industriels, dont MULTITEL, SIRRIS, UCLouvain, et ULiège.

CyberGalaxia is an ambitious project funded by the FEDER Wallonia 2021-2027 program, aimed at strengthening cybersecurity in the Walloon region. This portfolio is coordinated by CETIC and involves several academic and industrial partners, including MULTITEL, SIRRIS, UCLouvain, and ULiège.

Context and Objectives

The CyberGalaxia project is part of a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy, addressing the growing need to protect infrastructures, systems, and data against digital threats. Cybersecurity has become a crucial issue with the increasing connectivity of systems and the digital transformation of the economy.

CyberGalaxia aims to:

  1. Improve the resilience of infrastructures against cyberattacks.
  2. Develop operational capabilities to prevent and respond to cybersecurity incidents.
  3. Promote a global and open cyberspace, aligned with European directives such as NIS/NIS2, CyberAct, and GDPR.

Projects and Demonstrators

CyberGalaxia stands out by producing cybersecurity demonstrators, located in the Galaxia center, an economic activity park dedicated to space applications.

The demonstrators include:

  • Trusted & Secured Manufacturing: Securing connected production chains, linked to the IIS MadeInWal.
  • Trusted & Secure Space Infrastructures: Securing space communications and generating training scenarios for space cybersecurity.

Impact and Prospects

The CyberGalaxia project aims to position Wallonia as a leader in cybersecurity by creating a dynamic ecosystem around the Redu site.

Specific objectives include:

  • Creating a cybersecurity hub in Redu, complementing the Walloon Recovery Plan (PRW).
  • Developing local employment and training in cybersecurity, with research, innovation, and education initiatives.

In conclusion, CyberGalaxia represents a significant advancement for cybersecurity in Wallonia, offering innovative solutions and strengthening the resilience of critical infrastructures. This project is a prime example of successful collaboration between the public sector, research centers, and businesses, aimed at protecting digital systems from growing threats.
